Physical therapy helps people develop, maintain, and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout their lives. It addresses issues caused by aging, injury, or disease, focusing on full and functional movement as a key to health. Physical therapy involves promoting, preventing, treating, and rehabilitating movement potential. It includes interactions between patients, their environment, families, and caregivers to assess movement potential and set goals. Physical therapists use their unique knowledge and skills to diagnose and create intervention strategies, whether for health promotion, prevention, treatment, or rehabilitation.
During your initial evaluation, we'll sit down and discuss your condition. We'll take measurements of the affected area and surrounding regions to assess motion, strength, and tissue mobility. At the end of the visit, we'll discuss our findings with you, explain what they mean, and outline our plan to address your specific condition. Feel free to ask any questions you have during this time.
We aim to alleviate pain, not cause it! While you might feel a pinch or deep pressure at times, we ensure that you shouldn't experience pain. Physical therapy can indeed help without causing pain, and we've found greater success with treatments that respect your body's alignment, tissue integrity, and individual pain perception.
